I think I'm done with this now, I might make some slight edits to it before I turn it in, but I'm done for now. I think I could have done A LOT better with this, I had really high hopes so I'm kind of disappointed with this. It's fine though, it was a learning experience.

I'm done with the realistic part of this work, now I have to add the paint. I really did want to use watercolor, but I don't have them at the moment so I'll have to use acrylic. Also I think my proportions are really off and I don't have the time nor the energy to fix it.
I've taken a bunch of selfies that I can use as a reference to draw myself. Other than that, I've been way to busy to make any progress recently. I'm still super excited for this though. There are way more positive feelings towards this project than the Leopard Disaster.
I finished this painting to an extent. I really do not like this at all, I have nobody to blame but myself for the idea and process. I think this was a learning experience for me. I'll probably spend more time thinking about my idea instead of just jumping in. I hope my at home project and my next projects are going to go better than this because I really didn't have any fun doing this and I just didn't like it at all.
I've had a chance to put my ideas on paper now. What I did was look at some pictures (selfies basically) of me and tried to find a composition I like and I think looks good. I put them in a photo-editor and moved them around until I found something I like. I wasn't as nit-picky as I usually am when I decide something via photo-editor ahead of time. This time I just used my selfies as a reference, I didn't completely copy them. I just used them to create what I think my face would look like (or what I want it to look like) in that angle and form.
So some alterations I decided: I wanted to put it on the left because the bigger part of my hair is there and I think it'll look more aesthetically pleasing if the water color is going out from there. Also, I decided to do my face at a slight angle for similar reasons, It makes for a more interesting composition and makes the watercolor hair coming out flow better with the face. Finally, I've decided to change a big thing with my process. I've decided to make my face a pencil drawing and the hair (and maybe background) out of watercolor. While I was drawing the sketch of my face, I was trying to make it as realistic as possible. I realized that I'm really confident with making realistic drawings with pencil, it's kind of the first proper art that I was good at. Also, I remembered that I really enjoyed making photo-realistic drawings of people out of pencil so I made my decision. My face will be in pencil and the hair will be flowing in watercolor. I'm actually significantly more excited for this project now that I've decided on this and I'm looking forward to working on it more. I have added more layers to the painting and cleaned up some of the edges. I've also painted in the base color of the leopard so I can work on it to add more. I'd like to make the sky better, but I think I need to work on the leopard first to make it look more complete. I plan to paint feathers on him, make him look majestic yet terrifying. I don't know how realistic I can/want to make this, but I'll try my best.
I'm not really enjoying this project at all. I don't like the art board I'm painting on, I decided on it because I was tired of canvas, but now I miss canvas. I also think the idea and execution aren't that well done. This was a learning experience for me, probably won't do much like this anymore. I've decided to make a watercolor painting of myself, but not fully realistically. It's going to be my head and shoulders near the bottom right of the painting. I'm going to be facing straight-on, looking at the viewer. My face and everything is going to be as realistic as possible, then my hair is going to be flowing watercolor outward into the left of the page. I think this is a super cool cross between a flowy style and a realistic style and I'm super excited to do it.
So this is what I have so far of my 2nd project for the first 9 weeks. I did a pink underpainting and I was told that if I let it show through a bit, it would make my whole painting pop out more. I'm planning on adding parrot feathers onto the leopard, but I wanna block in my colors and get the background done first.
I haven't made any work this week, but I'm thinking about what I want to do. I'm trying to make whatever draws me or captures my interest. I'm leaning towards finding interest ways to blend colors and different shades of colors. I'm very unsure though, my ideas might change after I think more about it. I'd like to use watercolor, but I don't know about how it would turn out. Maybe I could do an acrylic version and then later try a watercolor version. I'm just thinking at this point.
